ABOUT ROSIE

I am a multi-media artist based in the UK, working across traditional and digital media, with a particular love of print and collage. These practices inform my process, regardless of medium. I love bold design but I also enjoy playing with words and textures.

My practice first came together wandering the lanes and moorland of my local landscape in Devon after a deep personal loss, taking cold dips in the river and realising how conscious observation brought me in closer relationship to a place I’d already known for many years. Stories are what bring my work to life; my work is an interaction between my personal story and that of folklore, myths and symbols which recur across my pieces. As I grow as an artist, so does my fascination I have with ‘place’ and how creating plays a major role in how we relate to the world.

Silhouette of two birds flying in the sky.
Abstract black silhouettes of plants, animals, and objects on an orange background, including a fox, a rabbit, a leaf, a flower, a pod, a knife, a spear, and a crescent moon.
Black and white illustration of a telephone pole with wires, a tree branch with leaves, and parts of buildings including a door and window.
Illustration of a spotted begonia.

PHILOSOPHY

My designs come from a dialogue between the physical nature of being and the narratives we build for ourselves. I find inspiration by looking around me, lead intuitively by shapes, animals, colours and textures that set my heart on fire. My designs are both an expression of what I connect with around me, and how I experience these things within. By following my instincts, I hope to tap into images that bring new life and energy that other people can connect with, celebrating the beauty and mystery of our inner and outer worlds.

PROJECTS

I am open to all kinds of collaborations - if you connect with my work, I’d love to hear from you.
